19 Weeks

how far along? 19 weeks
how are you measuring? 19 weeks
size of baby? Large Heirloom Tomato: 8.5 oz and 6 inches long...something else I read said it is the size of a tissue box.
heartbeat? 140's at my last appt
total weight gain/loss? not sure...will find out tomorrow. I am thinking it has gone up with all the holiday goodies and a few pieces of my mom's italian cream cake...yummy!
maternity clothes? half and half still
sleep? Still getting up frequently through the night and sleeping on my back is starting to get a little more uncomfortable.
best moment this week? Christmas! We got lots of great things for the baby and enjoyed time with family and friends...and a break from work.
movement? Yes, it's getting stronger. Feeling little kicks here and there.
food cravings/aversions? I wasn't craving it, but Cory took me to lunch the other day at Paradise Bakery and I ordered the Asian Chicken Salad...I could seriously eat this everyday. Now I am craving it. I have also been craving food from a place in Tyler and Waco called Newk's (love the chicken salad sandwich-shout out to Suzanne for introducing me!), but it's a little far and I haven't convinced Cory to drive me there yet just for lunch.
gender predictions? We find out tomorrow...but we are thinking boy!
what i miss: Can't think of anything in particular
what i'm looking forward to: Finding out the gender tomorrow!
how are you feeling? Still tired....oh well, trying to come to terms with the lack of energy.

18 Weeks

how far along? 18 weeks
how are you measuring? 18 weeks
size of baby? bell pepper: 5 1/2 inches long and about 7 ounces
heartbeat? in the 140's at my 15 week appointment
total weight gain/loss? 1 lb.
maternity clothes? About the same...half and half. My last pair of work pants that were non-maternity were feeling a little snug this week.
sleep? yes please...whoever said my energy would return LIED to me! I have been falling asleep this week around 9 and still waking up to go to the bathroom 3-4 times per night. Fun times.
best moment this week? We got the nursery furniture. We didn't open any of it (we won't until after we paint), but it feels good to know it is now in our possession (especially after what we had to go through to make sure it truly was ours).
movement? Yes, definitely! It is getting more consistent.
food cravings/aversions? None...I'm boring, I know.
gender predictions? Find out on the 30th! Had a dream the other night that my good friend Bethany performed the sonogram and told me it was a boy. However, I think my sister-in-law (Angie) has had 2 dreams about the baby being a girl. We shall see!
what i miss: Nothing really
what i'm looking forward to: CHRISTMAS... This is one of my favorite times of the year. My nephew is 17 months and I think it will be fun to watch him join in all the festivities this year. I also caught him standing on one of his presents last week....he he he.
how are you feeling? tired!

Then There Were 3!

So these posts are a little out of order, but everyone doesn't mind right? Okay, good. Cory and I are happy to announce that we are having a baby! We had a miscarriage very early into pregnancy back in August, but my doctor told us that we could start trying again as soon as we were spiritually, emotionally, and physically ready. Much to our surprise, I found out I was pregnant again on September 7th. I had suspected and so when I came home from work that day I took a couple of tests. Both quickly revealed that I was indeed "pregnant" once again. Cory and I were taking dinner to a couple in our homegroup that night that had just had a baby so we were in a rush. I took both of the tests and put them in the pockets of the shorts that Cory was going to wear that night. He came home from work and quickly changed. As he was putting on his shorts he said, "why is there a pen in my pocket?" He
reached in an pulled out the test and said "wait, what? Is this from last time?" I shook my head and said "nope" and he was beyond excited. We were cautiously optimistic in the days ahead and I don't think it truly became real until we heard the heartbeat for the first time at around 7 weeks. We feel beyond blessed that we have been given the opportunity to be parents and that we get to shepard a child for the rest of our lives. We have truly been amazed at what a miracle the creation of new life is and how intricately God designed the process of conception and pregnancy. Our baby is set to arrive sometime in May of 2012 and we are eagerly anticipating his or her arrival.

16 Weeks

16 Weeks....better late than never

how far along? 16 weeks and 4 days
how are you measuring? I would assume 16 weeks, but my Dr. doesn't start actually measuring until about 20 weeks I think
size of baby? We have ourselves an avocado....4 1/2 inches long and 3 1/2 ounces
heartbeat? in the 140's at my appointment last week
total weight gain/loss? 1 lb....this may be the last time I ever update this portion...ha!
maternity clothes? Wearing maternity jeans...they are so much more comfortable, but work pants are still regular.
sleep? I still haven't seemed to re-claimed my energy so I typically fall asleep on the couch around 8:45 or 9 and take about a 30 minute nap. Then Cory convinces me to go to bed. I usually wake up 1-3 times a night to go to the bathroom and it is sometimes hard to go back to sleep after that.
best moment this week? Feeling the baby start to move more
movement? Yes, it's very suttle and I typically only feel it if I am sitting really still. It's not everyday either. Yesterday at work I was feeling it a lot.
food cravings/aversions? I have a love hate relationship with food right now it seems. Somedays nothing sounds good and other days something will sound good, but then I take a few bites and I am done. I did buy a jar of kosher dill pickles though and they have been very tasty.
gender predictions? Who knows...my gut is kind of saying boy, but then sometimes I lean towards girl. My odd are 50/50. Ha ha!
what i miss: Energy and my back not hurting (which hopefully we have resolved this issue by changing out my chair at work)
what i'm looking forward to: The next appointment where we find out the gender and getting the nursery all together.
how are you feeling? Pretty good overall, besides the aforementioned lack of energy and backaches.
pregnancy moments: Oh...there are probably too many to count. Cory gets to experience a lot of them. It usually involves me forgetting to do something or asking something that perhaps I have already asked.

Our New Home

Cory and I recently purchased our first home in Little Elm (Frisco area). We closed towards the end of February and moved in the following weekend. We painted the kitchen, 2 guest rooms, living room and master bathroom. We LOVE our new home and are excited to see what's in store for the future and are truly thankful for God's provision!

Welcome! Come take a tour!

The Entryway

Entryway and hallway that leads to the living room

Dining Room

Master Bedroom

Master Bathroom...if you recall...this used to be a lovely mustardy/gold color! It was the first thing we painted!

The kitchen...which I absolutely adore!

The living room...notice the cute curtains that Cory hung.
Guest Bathroom...we will probably eventually repaint this, but for now it will do.

One of the guest rooms, the other one is just an office/storage room so no pictures of that one.

The previous owners left their patio furniture (it was a gross blue/grayish color) so we took some spray paint to it and voila...good as new with some cute cushions.

The day we had a housewarming party! Thanks to everyone who helped us move, helped us paint, helped us unpack, and helped bless our new home!
